Today, we have the power of God’s word to stand upon when the culture pummels us with inaccurate information. It may appear that darkness is overwhelming and powerful, but God’s word and work can penetrate and cause it to retreat as it is spoken boldly and lived out righteously.

I loved to go to Sunday school as my teacher was a man who loved the outdoors and regularly took his students fishing or other outdoor activities but I do not ever remember being told how to become a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Some of the greatest preachers and teachers of Christianity have a story to tell of a mature believer that assisted them in a truth they previously had not seen in Scripture. D. L Moody came to Christ as a result of a faithful Sunday school teacher. Billy Graham had a boyhood friend that assisted him throughout his life We do not have to be well educated, Christ can use us to instruct and develop the life of another believer.

Please note that Paul was not exempted from difficult situations but that the Lord sustained him in all the various incidents that came upon him. This is important as we also are not spared from difficulties or accidents.

Facing adversity alone is draining and can lead to defeat. Recognizing that we have allies and support enables us to charge full steam ahead!

What appears to be a failed message is used by God to invoke a group of people insulated from the gospel to consider Christ.

Faithful teaching of God’s word will always bring a response in some form.

Being willing to change is a difficult decision for a lot of people. The comfort of having a routine and knowing what is expected each day can make it uncomfortable and challenging when change is thrust upon us.

Difficult times have been used by the Lord to bring unexpected blessings and open opportunities to proclaim God’s word.

We sometimes struggle to share the gospel instead of allowing the Spirit of God to lead us to the very people He has placed in our path.
