What brings Joy to the World? For many it is the blessing of work, financial advancement, relationships, or family. I truly love when all my family is in one place and the house is alive with activity and noise. While all these objects or people can bring a degree of happiness, the only One that brings true joy is God Himself!

December 15, 2021 - Luke 2:15, 20

When I was growing up Christmas was a very special day. After the presents were opened at our home, we would meet at our Grandpa Miller's place. All the aunts and uncles, cousins and others would come to Grandpa and Grandma's place for an afternoon of family fun and activities. The counters, tables and about any space that could hold a bowl or plate was filled with the food and desserts that would come in that day. Everyone was expected and everyone was faithful to come.

Anticipation is such a part of Christmas, especially for children! Families and Sunday School teachers have recounted the miracle of the first Christmas down through the ages. In our day, the story of Christmas is still one of anticipation as people tell of the coming of Christ's birth with the expectancy of His return as Sovereign King instead of a baby in the manger.

The advent is about the two arrivals of Jesus Christ! The first is what we have been anticipating as we draw near to December 25th to celebrate the birth of the Messiah, our Savior. The second is when Jesus will return to earth to establish His kingdom and He will rule and reign forever as Sovereign Lord!
